Today is a sad day for the video game industry, as United Front Games, a Canadian-based developer known for the excellent Sleeping Dogs, has been shut down. The company’s latest game, Smash+Grab, can’t be purchased from Steam anymore, and we expect to get an official statement about the developer’s future soon.
This news comes as a surprise for most gamers, since Smash+Grab just had a free weekend on Steam. The game’s sales numbers don’t seem so bad going from SteamSpy’s data, but this could have been the studio’s last shot at a hit after their previous title (Triad Wars) was cancelled by its publisher, Square Enix.
