Daymare: 1998 Kickstarter Campaign Launched

Invader Studios, the talented people behind the now canceled Resident Evil 2 Reborn, have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their upcoming survival horror title Daymare: 1998. Powered by Unreal Engine 4, the Italian team’s debut title will be a hardcore survival horror experience inspired by the visual style and atmosphere evoked by the nineties’ cult movies.

Several industry professionals with experience working on survival horror franchises have publicly expressed their support for the project, and the developers have already signed up Satoshi Nakai as the title’s enemy designer (responsible for monster concepts in Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 0, among others)

The crowdfunding campaign is asking for €180,000 over a thirty days period, and gamers interested in snagging a copy of Daymare: 1998 for a discounted price may want to take a look at the first three reward tiers, offering a digitally downloadable copy of the game for just  €14-15.

Stretch goals include improved animations thanks to the use of motion capture technology, a graphic novel, current gen console versions and at €240,000, the team will bring legendary Japanese composer Akari Kaida onboard to create the game’s original soundtrack (Akari Kaida was in charge of the original Resident Evil’s soundtrack, among other critically acclaimed creations)
