The next major expansion for Destiny 2 will be released on February 22, 2022, and preorders are already available. This expansion is centered around the Witch Queen of the Hive, who is also a major player in the current Season (Season of the Lost). Players will be able to craft weapons and gear for the first time in the franchise, and they’ll also come face to face with the Hive’s equivalent to Guardians, who can use the Light.

Bungie has also revealed that they will be celebrating the company’s 30th anniversary with a massive ingame event, which includes both paid and free content. Free to play users can enjoy a new six-player matchmade activity that should hit sometime in December, as well as the usual new rewards those events dole out to players. Should you choose to pay for the 30th Anniversary Pack, a new Dungeon will be available, as well as an armor set based on the Thorn handcannon, and the return of the most iconic Destiny 1 weapon, the exotic rocket launcher Gjallarhorn.
