Devolver Digital Unveils Narrative Adventure GRIS, Out in December

What would happen with our gaming habits if Devolver Digital wasn’t around? One day they announce the release date for a new survival game, and the next, they are talking about beautiful narrative adventure games like GRIS, a new title by developers Nomada Studio. Now this is a truly diverse publisher!

Back on track, as you probably guessed from the intro, Devolver Digital has just unveiled a beautiful new game titled GRIS, which seems to be a narrative adventure created by Nomada Studio, a group of experienced developers and artists based in Barcelona. According to the press release, GRIS will tell the story of a young girl who’s lost in her own world as she deals with a painful life experience. The protagonist’s dress is intended to portray her journey through sorrow, granting her new abilities that will be incredibly useful as she navigates her faded reality. As the game progresses, Gris (our protagonist) will experience emotional growth, seeing the world through a different lens, something that works both for the narrative aspect of the game, and as a gameplay feature, as we’ll be able to explore new paths using newly unlocked abilities.

GRIS is a serene and evocative experience, free of danger, frustration or death. Players will explore a meticulous designed world brought to life with delicate art, detailed animation, and an elegant original score. Through the game light puzzles, platforming sequences, and optional skill-based challenges will reveal themselves as more of Gris’s world becomes accessible.

GRIS features art from Conrad Roset, and the music of Berlinist.
