DOOM Eternal’s First Expansion Will Be Out in October

id Software revealed today that The Ancient Gods: Part One, DOOM Eternal‘s first expansion, will be released on October 20th. FPS fans who wish to go back to the excellent gameplay of DOOM Eternal without replaying the game will be able to pick up this DLC for US$19.99 or US$29.99 if they choose to purchase the Year One Pass (which will also grant access to a second expansion that is so far unnamed, though I’d expect it to be Part Two in the Ancient Gods saga).

Interestingly, those who don’t yet own DOOM Eternal (heretics!) will be able to enjoy this expansion without owning the base game, as it also comes in the form of a standalone title (priced at US$19.99). The interesting (though short lived) Battlemode multiplayer of the main game will be included for free in this standalone download.

Your war is not over… slaying the Khan Maykr left an imbalance of power that threatens all of creation. With the aid of an old ally, battle your way back to Urdak and decide the fate of the cosmos. Your mission is now your own.
