Epic Games has just announced that from September 26th onwards, players will be able to enjoy the PVP portion of Fortnite without having to buy a Founder’s Pack.

According to the developers the Battle Royale game mode will remain free, and they have promised to avoid turning it into a “pay to win” experience. Gamers who wish to support Epic will be able to buy cosmetics or content similar to the Dota 2 Compendiums, although none of that is included in the current version of Fortnite Battle Royale.

September 26th will also mark the introduction of squads to the game, letting players team up legally and engage in cooperative combat against other survivors.
