Marvel Ultimate Alliance PC patch released, DLC will be free

As we reported last week, Activision is indeed working on fixing the Marvel Ultimate Alliance re-releases. A new PC patch has been deployed, which fixes some nasty issues that users were experiencing.

Patch details:

  • Controller mapping improvements that address both Xbox One and Xbox 360 buttons, triggers, and a problem specifically with the A button.
  • General improvements to audio and fixes for the crackling sounds.
  • Improvements to player invitations for Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
  • UI updates and fixes for desync/disconnection issues when playing online.

They have also promised that the missing DLC will be reinstated to the game in the near future (and that it will be a free update)

Activision‘s statement on the matter:

Both the standalone and bundled versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 feature all of its original DLC. We are still working on making the DLC for the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance available in the coming weeks as a free update for everyone who has purchased the title on these platforms alone or as part of the bundle.

We’re focused on identifying and fixing the issues that have been occurring. Thank you for your continued patience as we address these issues.

Hopefully this attitude will continue and fans of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games will get to enjoy the games they paid for. So far, both Marvel: UA 1 and 2‘s Steam store pages show mostly negative user review scores, due to the glitches found at launch, and the high price that gamers had to pay in order to access the re-releases.

It’s hard to understand why the games were released in such a sorry state, though I suspect it may have something to do with a licensing deal about to end, since marketing for both titles has been scarce and everything points towards a rushed job.

  1. excellent points altogether, you simply gained a new reader. What would you recommend in regards to your post that you made a few days ago? Any positive?

    • Hopefully the situation will improve. I still think that releasing both games for such a high price was a bad move, but at least we know that they are working on them, so that’s good.

  2. I really appreciate this post. I’ve been looking all over for this! Thank goodness I found it on Bing. You have made my day! Thx again
