No Man’s Sky’s latest experimental PC patch fixes AMD Phenom crashes

No Man’s Sky‘s PC launch wasn’t as smooth as we expected, but the Hello Games team is working tirelessly to fix the botched release.

The developer released a Steam Experimental Branch beta on August 13 in order to test fixes that would later be pushed to the main branch. The first patch removed most of the stutter that users were experiencing (which was due to a problem with their shader caching solution) and now, today’s patch seems to have fixed the game’s inability to run with AMD Phenom II CPUs.

No official notes have been provided so far, but the Steam Community forums for the game are full of people reporting that it’s now working as intended on their CPUs.

Here are the instructions to access the experimental branch on Steam:

To access the Experimental branch right-click on the game from the library page and select “Properties”. Among the available tabs will be the “BETAS” tab.

Code: 3xperimental
Your new branch should be listed in the dropdown menu under “Select the beta you would like to opt into:”

Keep in mind that some users have reported unbearable lag while running the latest update (though they seem to be in the minority so far)

  1. Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to
assist with Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords
but I’m not seeing very good success. If you know of any
    please share. Many thanks!
