Encurio GmbH announced this week that their online sandbox RPG Valnir Rok will get a Steam Early Access launch on September 26th. Playing as a Viking clansman, we’ll be able to explore a dangerous new world filled with vicious beasts, warring clans and forgotten gods seeking revenge.

In order to separate Valnir Rok from existing survival games, developers Encurio GmbH have created a quest system which features writing from Giles Kristian, a British bestselling author. Server owners can also create their own story and quests, adding a personal touch to the experience.

Valnir Rok is an online sandbox, roleplaying game inspired by Norse mythology. Players will awaken to find themselves on Valnir Island and must do whatever it takes to survive in a land of wild animals, mythical beasts, and violent men. As a hardened Viking warrior, butcher your enemies in bloody combat, build and improve village structures, and form a clan to expand your power and reputation. Battle against opposing clans, place bounties on hated enemies, and discover ruin artifacts to gain favor with the gods with great deeds and holy sacrifices.
