Can horror be charming? One would think that there’s no way this thought should ever cross anyone’s mind, but I dare you to think the same after watching the Paper Cut Mansion trailer I’m going to share below this text.

So, what do you think? Personally, this single trailer has proved that yes, horror can be charming. Was it the (exquisite) song that accompanies the action? Or the simply amazing cardboard cutout art style? Or maybe it was a mix of both? Honestly, I’m not sure, but I can only congratulate the Space Lizard team on the absolute gem of a trailer they’ve produced. According to a Steam Community Forums post from one of the developers, the game is still in deep development and won’t see a release for at the very least a year, so I am sadly unable to delve right into this exquisitely horrifying mansion, but I can tell you right now that I’m going to watch that trailer at least a thousand times more.

If you are like me, then I expect to see those numbers go up exponentially in the next few days. If you aren’t into watching and rewatching Youtube trailers, then at the very least I hope you’ll add this gem to your Steam wishlist.

Paper Cut Mansion is a Roguelite Horror set in a cardboard universe.
The player is a paper man trapped in a paper mansion who has to solve a series of puzzles and riddles “escape-room” style in order to get out of the house.

The house has different levels and, during his journey, the player will encounter other mansion inhabitants, some will ask him to complete quests and give him rewards, some other will try to hide, some other will try to kill him.
If during the game the player dies he will start over from the first level.

The player will find new equipments hidden in each level and will unlock new abilities to become more powerful and less likely to die in his mansion runs.

After dying, he can try again as many times as he likes and will be able to gradually shape his own play style by combining the equipments he finds on each run.
