Prey’s Demo Skips PC

Earlier today, Bethesda revealed that Arkane Studios‘ upcoming Prey will get a demo on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but not on PC. We expect that this move stems from security concerns and fears that data miners will spoil the game’s campaign before it’s released to the public on May 5th. Sadly, Bethesda‘s track record is a bit muddied after Dishonored 2‘s awful PC launch, and gamers could take their unwillingness to release a PC demo as a signal that they aren’t confident on the performance of Prey’s PC version.

Hopefully the company will reconsider their position and release a demo after the game is out (or during its launch window) as the PC platform is the one that benefits most from “try before you buy” deals, due to the wide variety of hardware being used by gamers all around the globe.
