Capcom revealed today that they’ve been working on a Resident Evil 3 full remake, and it’s coming out sooner that we could have expected, as it’ll drop on April 3, 2020.
Players will return to Raccoon City as Jill Valentine, trying to survive in the condemned town while the Nemesis-T type bioweapon hunts her down with extreme prejudice.
This remake will also take advantage of Capcom‘s RE Engine. As expected after this year’s Resident Evil 2 reimagining, Resident Evil 3 will now be a third person over the shoulder title, eschewing the original’s fixed camera angles for a more modern approach to survival horror.
Players who wish to take the fight online will be happy to learn that Resident Evil Resistance (a title that was originally revealed earlier this year as a 4 vs. 1 multiplayer experience) will ship with Resident Evil 3, letting us experience some of the twisted experiments Umbrella was carrying over in the doomed city before its fall in a way that has never been explored in Capcom’s iconic franchise.
