tinyBuild Will Publish Yandere Simulator

Indie developer Yandere Dev announced today that his upcoming social stealth title Yandere Simulator will be published by tinyBuild. The newly minted partnership will help elevate the game’s production values, with the original creator assuming the role of Design Lead, and other collaborators being drafted in to help with development duties. Yandere Dev says that this agreement will let him retain full ownership of the IP, as well as control over any game design related decisions.

tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik had this to say about the partnership:

You play as Yandere-chan, a seemingly innocent student studying in a Japanese academy. She has a crush on “Senpai”. He doesn’t know that she exists – and that’s exactly the way she wants it. She won’t confess to him until she’s certain that all of the competition has been eliminated. Imagine Hitman if it was an anime.

The game has already made waves in the media, and the devlog channel has 1.4 million subscribers. The reasons we partnered up are detailed in YandereDev’s latest video, and here’s the short-version:

  • We love the game’s design and are going to build a development team to elevate the game’s production values, where the original dev assumes role of Design Lead.
  • This project’s structure is very similar to what we did with co-developing SpeedRunners, which went onto sell 1.4m copies on Steam.
  • Similar to Hello Neighbor, we will do a Paid Alpha and/or a Crowdfunding campaign to expand the game’s budget and dictate the final scope.

We’re excited to bring Yandere Simulator to PC and many more platforms in the near future. Stay tuned.
