Toadman Interactive Announces New Souls-Like Immortal: Unchained

Toadman Interactive announced today that they are working on a new third person shooter Souls-like titled Immortal: Unchained, due for release in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. British publisher Sold Out will be in charge of bringing Immortal to store shelves.

This new game from a team of industry veterans will send players on a journey to save a dark sci-fi universe torn by strife. We’ll play as a being considered a living weapon, set free by the Warden, a mysterious entity who tells us that our skills are required to save the world. Combat is challenging, rewarding patience and timing, and according to the development team, Immortal: Unchained‘s bosses will test the skills of even the most accomplished gamers. Both ranged and melee options will be available, with the former being the focus.

Immortal: Unchained is a fresh new take on the emerging souls genre. It is not for the faint-hearted and is a seriously challenging game. The story and ranged combat really sets us apart from other games out there and we’re really excited to finally be showing Toadman’s first IP to everyone at Gamescom.

Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director, Sold Out.

Death will be handled the same way as it is in the Souls series, so we’ll have to be careful if we wish to become stronger without having to travel back to our defeated body over and over again. The writing team promises that we’ll be able to uncover an engrossing storyline full of hidden content, and considering their earlier work (The Witcher, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Battlefield 1) we are looking forward to traversing the world of Immortal: Unchained next year.
