Nihon Falcom is working on Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, due for release in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and published by NIS America.
While the previous Ys title (Lacrimosa of Dana) suffered from a subpar PC port at launch, the publisher didn’t abandon it, and chose to hire Peter “Durante” Thoman’s studio to fix the issues and add new features. Hopefully, Ys IX will ship in a far better state (and without suffering as many delays as the original PC port of Ys VIII)
Vanquish the creatures of the night in Ys IX: Monstrum Nox! Renowned adventurer Adol Christin is cursed by a mysterious woman and becomes a Monstrum, a powerful being who can exorcise monsters. To escape from the city of Balduq, he must ally with five other Monstrum, each with their own unique Gifts, and stop the Grimwald Nox, a shadowy dimension that threatens to seep into the real world.
Apparently, Ys IX will launch first on PlayStation 4.
