Top Poker Games on the PC

Online casino gaming is becoming increasingly popular with reports showing a predicted compound annual growth rate of 11.94% between 2021 and 2026. This growth has resulted in more gamers becoming interested in certain casino games, with online poker, in particular, seeing a massive boom in the past few years. Yet, there is also an audience who don’t want to sign up to online platforms in order to play the classic card game. The good news is that there are several PC games available where players can play poker without signing up to an online casino.

Governor of Poker 3

Governor of Poker 3 is an immersive poker game set in Texas during the Wild West years. Players must progress through poker tables and tournaments to raise their status and play for higher stakes. The game doesn’t use real-money, making it ideal for those who just want to have fun playing poker. Governor of Poker 3 is the first in the series to allow multiplayer poker, and players can compete with friends or strangers in friendly games.

Poker World

Developed by the makers of Governor of Poker, Poker World is an offline poker sim that allows players to experience the journey of a poker pro. Players go from city to city, playing in some of the most iconic casino destinations across the globe, to become World Champion. Starting in the U.S., players must build up their reputation in order to take part in bigger tournaments. As you become a better player you also get better poker sponsorship deals, replicating the journey of real-life poker pros.

PokerStars VR

VR PC games are becoming increasingly popular as more major game developers create titles for those with VR headsets. PokerStars VR is available on Stream and is fast becoming one of the most exciting ways to play poker. This game is the closest a player can get to actually playing live poker in a casino, with the dealers, cards, and chips all acting as they would in real life. While you can play free-to-play games, the biggest draw is playing against real people, whether friends or players across the globe. Playing in a VR setting against real people allows players to try different Texas Hold’em strategies, such as bluffing and pre-flop raising, that wouldn’t work against a computer. This makes the experience all the more realistic, as players are able to read opponents’ body language, a key skill in the live poker experience.

Red Dead Redemption 2

While not technically a poker game, poker plays a huge part in Red Dead Redemption 2 and is a great introduction to the game. A game of poker is included in the main storyline, in a mission called A Fine Night of Debauchery, and players must win the game to proceed. Outside of the mission, there are five different spots (Valentine, Tumbleweed, Saint-Denis, Flatneck Station and Blackwater) where players can earn or lose, in-game money. The poker played in Red Dead Redemption 2 is Texas Hold’em. For a more competitive game, those who play the online version of the game can play against other online players.

If you are a fan of poker and are looking for a poker PC game, we hope the above titles prove useful.
