Electronic Arts revealed today that skate. will get an Early Access launch in 2025. The game is currently undergoing private playtesting (interested parties can sign up at the official website). Currently that only covers PC playtesting, but our console siblings will soon be able to participate as well, as the website lists console playtesting for a “fall 2024” window.

skate. has been in development since 2020 (that we know of) and while its publisher is as rigid and traditional as they come (we are talking about Electronic Arts here, I think pretty much everyone will agree with me on that front) the marketing campaign for the game has been deliciously different from what you’d expect. Heck, we got an entire trailer that’s just Tim Robinson doing Tim Robinson things! Not exactly what you’d see coming when you read “Electronic Arts” in the publisher section, is it?

Hopefully the game will also be a breath of fresh air in a world that has been eagerly awaiting a return to form for skateboarding videogames. Not so long until we can at least get a taste of it, at the very least.
