Microsoft Flight Simulator Takes off in August

Xbox Game Studios and Asobo Studio revealed today that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released for PC on August 18th. As usual with Microsoft’s first party output, the game will be playable through Xbox Game Pass for PC from day one, though dedicated fans can also preorder it starting today (US$59.99 for the Standard Edition, 89.99 for the Deluxe Edition, and an eye watering 119.99 for the Premium Deluxe Edition).

There has been no confirmation of a potential Steam release, but I wouldn’t rule it out completely, as titles like Sea of Thieves have proved that even when Game Pass seems to be the cheapest option, players will often flock to Valve’s platform if possible, when it comes to titles that seem to have a long lifespan. The official preorder FAQ also states that Microsoft wishes to bring the game to as many platforms as possible.

Travel the world and experience over 2 million cities and expansive environments from mountains to trees, rivers, animals, traffic, and even roads. From light planes to wide-body jets, test your piloting skills and experience the challenges of flying at night, real-time atmospheric simulation, and live weather in a dynamic and living world.

As a reminder, here‘s what you will need to run the game, hardware-wise.
