Still waiting for Skate 4? I know it’s finally coming, but it’ll be a while until it’s out, so why not take a detour into a cuter skating game? Glass Bottom Games revealed today that SkateBIRD will launch for PC and consoles on August 12th.

As you might have guessed from the title, in SkateBIRD the player controls a sort of bird Tony Hawk who can’t help but skate on all available surfaces, pulling off crazy tricks at every turn. Unlike the talented Mr. Hawk though, our avian skater has wings, so I’m guessing we won’t see the kind of gruesome falls that I remember from the Tony Hawk games (as you can see, I wasn’t very good at them, so that’s the first thing that popped into my mind. Sorry!).

Here’s a very wholesome trailer so you can wipe that mental image and replace it with an adorable bird with a skateboard:
