Crytek Officially Unveils Crysis Remastered

After some teasing and a few leaks, Crytek has officially revealed Crysis Remastered, an updated edition of their seminal first person shooter, due for release on PC and current gen consoles.

The press release’s wording seems to imply that the single player campaigns for both Crysis and Crysis Warhead will be included in this remaster. The game will get a comprehensive graphical touch-up, with enhanced textures, improved art assets, new anti-aliasing solutions and other effects all being mentioned. More importantly, a software-based ray tracing solution developed by Crytek will bring this classic firmly into the current generation, no matter your graphics card manufacturer.

We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game. It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles – even Nintendo Switch! – so that a whole new generation of players can experience the thrill of a battle in the Nanosuit.

Saber Interactive is co-developing the game along with Crytek. We don’t have a release window as of today, but considering the game is scheduled to come out on current generation consoles, a 2020 launch shouldn’t be out of the picture.
